“山”与“院”是半山学校方案设计的两个关键词。设计希望保留延续石芽岭地形与景观的小山，并通过围院的方式组织校园复杂的功能，让山与院共同成为呵护校园的界面。设计结合地势高差定义出“下院”与“上院”，分别对应下部小学与上部初中，并通过连续的坡道串联不同标高的活动场所。图书馆架设于屋面跑道与山林之间，充分融入自然环境的同时也成为校园的精神堡垒。
"Mountain" and "Courtyard" are the two key concepts in the design of the Banshan School. The design aims to preserve and extend the small hills of the Shiyanling terrain and landscape, and to organize the complex functions of the campus through the formation of courtyards. This approach allows the mountain and courtyard to jointly form a protective boundary for the campus. The design defines a "lower courtyard" and an "upper courtyard" based on the elevation changes, corresponding to the lower elementary school and the upper middle school, respectively. A continuous ramp system connects activity spaces at different elevations. The library is positioned between the rooftop track and the surrounding mountains and forest, fully integrating with the natural environment while also becoming the spiritual bastion of the campus.
